‘Ask The Celiac’ Experts Facebook Day

Five experts will be going ‘live’ on Facebook on May 31 throughout the day to share tips and answer your questions in real time.

The Internet is full of half-truths, misinformation and uncited materials. Turn to CCA to offer reliable, expert advice on celiac disease and gluten sensitivity. Thanks to hundreds of supporters and donors, CCA is able to support the community to provide real advice for real people.

How to participate: 

Step 1: You will need a free Facebook account. You can sign up at www.facebook.com

Step 2: Find our CCA Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CCAceliac/

Step 3: Visit the page throughout the day to catch our experts live chatting. You will be able to post comments and questions and they’ll do their best to answer.

Step 4: Missed your favourite expert? Don’t worry! Facebook live is recorded so you can watch at a later time and even save it to your own page.

Step 5: Show us the love! Like, share, post to let the experts know if you have enjoyed their sessions.

  • Shelley Case -A leading international expert on the gluten-free diet, Shelley is a registered dietitian, author, speaker and consultant with more than 35 years’ experience. She is a member of the Professional Advisory Council of the Canadian Celiac Association. Shelley’s best-selling book Gluten Free: The Definitive Resource Guide is highly recommended by health professionals, celiac organizations, consumers and the food industry.
  • Sue Newell- CCA’s very own in-house expert with over 20 years experience. Sue is CCA’s Education Manager and has expertise in providing adult education.
  • Adrianna Smallwood: Adrianna is a Registered Dietitian with an expansive background in food chemistry and Dietetics. Currently, Adrianna sits on Professional Advisory Council for the CCA. As a Celiac herself, her passion is in creating meal options that are both healthy and delicious.
  • Selena De Vries: Selena Devries is a Registered Dietitian living with celiac disease. By using food as medicine, she helps individuals that struggle with digestion discover food freedom. Her expertise has been featured in Alive Magazine, Global TV, Huffington Post BC, and many other publications.
  • Rai-Lee Gardiner: Rai-Lee is president of the Nova Scotia chapter of CCA and is a Registered Dietitian.
