    • 4 large eggs
    • ½ cup granulated sugar
    • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
    • ¼ cup melted butter or dairy-free alternative
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
    • ¼ tsp nutmeg

    For the topping

    • 2 tbsp brown sugar
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
    • 2 tbsp chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

    Instructions

    1

    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.

    2

Cook the gluten-free egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

    4

Fold in the cooked noodles and diced apples, stirring until evenly combined.

    5

Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

    6

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts (if using). Sprinkle evenly over the top of the kugel.

    7

Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the kugel is set and the top is lightly golden.

    8

Allow to cool for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.

    Serving Tip

    1

Serve warm as a dessert or brunch dish. For an extra-special holiday touch, top with a dollop of whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce. Always verify that all packaged ingredients, including noodles and toppings, are certified gluten-free before use.
