Celiac Canada is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible individual to volunteer with us in the capacity of a Facebook Moderator. As a Facebook Moderator for Celiac Canada, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing an engaged and supportive online community for individuals affected by celiac disease and gluten sensitivity.
Responsibilities:
Community Engagement:
Monitor Celiac Canada’s Facebook page regularly to engage with users, respond to comments, messages, and posts in a timely and courteous manner.
Foster a positive and inclusive online environment by encouraging respectful interactions among community members.
Address user inquiries, concerns, and feedback related to celiac disease and gluten sensitivity with empathy and accuracy.
Content Moderation:
Review user-generated content, including comments, images, and videos, to ensure they align with Celiac Canada’s community guidelines and values.
Identify and promptly remove any inappropriate, offensive, or spam content in line with our moderation policies.
Report and escalate sensitive or concerning content to the relevant team members for further action, as required.
Knowledge Sharing and Support:
Stay informed about the latest developments, research, and news related to celiac disease and gluten sensitivity.
Share informative and relevant content with the community to raise awareness and provide support.
Provide resources, educational materials, and links to credible sources to help community members make informed decisions about managing celiac disease.
Crisis Management:
Collaborate with the crisis communication team to address and manage any online crises or negative feedback professionally and empathetically.
Respond to challenging or sensitive situations with tact and understanding, striving to find constructive solutions.
Community Growth:
Add members to the Facebook group.
Assist in promoting Celiac Canada’s Facebook page and initiatives to attract new followers and grow the online community.
Engage in cross-platform collaboration with other social media moderators and communication team members to ensure consistent messaging and brand representation.
Requirements:
Passion for and understanding of celiac disease and gluten sensitivity.
Previous experience as a social media moderator or community manager is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a warm and approachable demeanor.
Strong knowledge of Facebook’s features, policies, and best practices.
Ability to handle emotionally charged situations with empathy and sensitivity.
Familiarity with the latest trends and topics related to celiac disease and gluten sensitivity is an asset.
Proficiency in English (additional language proficiency is a plus).
This is a part-time position is 1 hr daily Monday-Friday based remotely.
