Dr. Daniel Agardh is a pediatric gastroenterologist, researcher at Lund University, and consultant pediatrician at Skåne University Hospital in Sweden. He leads a multidisciplinary research program focused on celiac disease and type 1 diabetes, with a particular interest in understanding how environmental factors influence the development of autoimmune diseases in children.

His research combines large population-based screening initiatives, international birth cohort studies, and clinical trials to investigate the early-life factors that contribute to disease development. Dr. Benjamin Lebwohl is a Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where he serves as Clinical Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Director of Clinical Research at the Celiac Disease Center. An internationally recognized expert in celiac disease, his research focuses on epidemiology, patterns of care, disease outcomes, and the development of novel therapies.

Dr. Lebwohl collaborates extensively with researchers across the United States and around the world to advance the understanding and treatment of celiac disease. He has co-authored more than 350 peer-reviewed publications and has received research funding from organizations including the National Institutes of Health, the American Gastroenterological Association, the Celiac Disease Foundation, and the American Scandinavian Foundation.

A past President of the Society for the Study of Celiac Disease, Dr. Lebwohl has also played a prominent role in shaping health policy and clinical practice. He served on the Gastrointestinal Drugs Advisory Committee of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration from 2017 to 2025, including a term as Chair. In addition to his research and leadership roles, Dr. Lebwohl maintains an active clinical practice and is a dedicated educator, regularly teaching on topics including celiac disease, evidence-based medicine, clinical decision-making, colorectal cancer screening, and digestive health.

Dr. Joseph Murray is a Professor of Medicine and Consultant in the Divisions of Immunology and Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Mayo Clinic. He is an internationally recognized expert in celiac disease, mucosal immunology, and small bowel disorders. His research spans basic science, translational medicine, and clinical trials, with a focus on understanding immune responses to food and microbial antigens, intestinal barrier function, and the pathogenesis of celiac disease.

In addition to his extensive research program, Dr. Murray leads a busy clinical practice and clinical trials program dedicated to celiac disease, providing valuable insights into patient care and advancing new approaches to diagnosis and treatment. His work has contributed significantly to our understanding of how intestinal immune responses interact with diet, the microbiome, and environmental factors.

Dr. Murray has authored more than 400 peer-reviewed publications on celiac disease, malabsorption disorders, esophageal disease, and gastrointestinal physiology. He has played a leading role in the development of clinical guidelines for celiac disease and has served on numerous national and international expert committees.
